Give your ego a boost!

Good news for chocaholics, chocolate gets a high 94% approval rating in the ´mind´ of the Internet.

One of the amusing web links I´ve stumbled on during the year-end holidays  is whatdoesthe internetthink.net.  You simply fill in your query, for example ‘Obama” and it gives a response whether the Internet thinks the subject  or person is “negative,” “positive,” or “don’t care.”

This website is a good reality check for those with big/bigger egos out there such as coke-sniffing celebrities, wife-beating movie stars and other flotsam and jetsam that the entire Internet-scape has a vague idea of.

The search tools include Google, Yahoo, a combination of the two search engines, Bing, and all three engines. It is interesting to note for example that for climate change, the results I got were: positive 34.9%, negative 18.1% and don’t care 47%!

And look at the following results I´ve got: Hilary Clinton- 62..6% negative, George Bush-   72% negative, Sex-   95.7 positive, Paris Hilton- 49.7 positive, Chocolate 93.9,

The abovementioned results were only from Google, the default search engine.

Two other websites that caught my attention were www. pixlr.com and www.putiton.com

Pixlr is a handy on-line tool one can use to correct, adjust or enhance one’s photographs. For newbies it pays to get a tutorial on the basics. It will save you a lot of hassle and confusion when using the tools. Once you have the basic  techniques using Pixlr should be a delight to use.

Putiton is for the creative set who would like to have their music, art work and film place on or promoted for free in a web-based platform. I haven’t extensively looked at the site, but it seems to offer easy-to-use tools and the visuals are good.

Another fun website is www.photofunia.com.  If your ego got a beating on whatdoestheinternetthink , photofunia gives you the boost. With a good portrait photo on hand, you can create professional-looking photos of you or your friends in various situations such as a postage stamp, a poster ad in a bus stop, as a Mt. Rushmore bust (besides Abraham Lincoln) and a slew of funny and odd places where you can see or play with your mug shot.

The Photofunia site gives you the ultimate feel-good moment. Beats watching a sentimental Hollywood movie.

Enjoy!
